What happens after my fiance gets here?

Within 90 days of arrival, the K-1 holder must become married to the U.S. citizen sponsor.  For those who arrive with K-1 visas, the only manner in which they can adjust to become permanent residents is through marriage to the K visa sponsor.  After marrying, the K-1 visa holder may apply for adjustment of status while in the U.S.
